2025 Speed Doubles

​

The 2025 Speed Croquet Tournament will take place on Sat Jun 28. Players of all handicaps are welcome, and we need 8 or 12 to play, on half-lawns. The format is 'progressive doubles', in which a higher-handicap player partners a lower-handicap player in each game, playing several games and changing partner from game to game. Each pair has 25 min to complete all their shots, after which they get one hit per turn until the other pair has used up their time. The result is a dynamic game where quick decisions are rewarded. 

 

The plan is for the day to run as follows:

 

09:30   Set up lawns and marquee

 

09:50   Introduction to Speed Croquet

 

10:00   Match 1

 

11:00   Match 2

 

12:00   Lunch - please bring your own packed lunch, and folding chair if possible. (Hot drinks available)

 

12:30   Match 3

 

13:30   Match 4

 

14:30   Results, awards, clear up
